Success!
The art auction tonight had a great turn out with tons of friends and people scouting out the goods! Emma, Jessica and I manned the merchandise area tonight and had a great time getting to mingle with people, encouraging them to purchase fun bike items. It was so great to see our very own hand-made items go home with people. Jessica sold one of her very own beautiful necklaces to a lady tonight. She was so excited!
Upon going to the art auction tonight, I was nervous. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, except that I had been told that things often got chaotic. And, I also am very out of my comfort zone when I am in large groups of people. However, as the night progressed, I started to feel more comfortable and really enjoyed myself :-) There were 3 different live bands/performers along with a very interesting interpretive puppet show. The crowd was great at participating and really getting involved. I am glad I got to see that cultural side of Tucson that I don't often get to experience. A lot of people who live there whole life in Tucson, like me, go the entire time rarely getting to experience the rich culture that Tucson contains. It is a true treasure.
I am bummed that I won't be able to attend the art auction on Sunday. I'm excited for BICAS, and hope that tomorrow is an even greater success!b
