Workshops: Friday, October 29 and Tuesday, November 2

The jewelry-making workshop at BICAS last Friday was a big success. Some members of our group came early and helped Shana, Michelle and Jessie sort and organize the tables and supplies for the workshop.

Casey gave a demonstration for our wallet-making workshop and we worked for about an hour before the jewelry-making workshop on examples of wallets for Tuesday. I spoke with Casey, Jessie and Shantaye about coordinating our Tuesday time table and the supplies that needed to be brought to the UA from BICAS– a BIG thanks to Jessie’s mom for transporting our supplies!

At BICAS, Casey was very happy with the turn out for the workshop and shared her hopes for the art-making/education area to be similarly filled on a more consistent basis. She showed me a few places in the shop where she hopes to expand the education area and make better use of the space.

Tuesday’s workshop on the mall was a coordinated effort. All in all, it too was a success. Our class produced some great wallets and coin purses and we were able to market BICAS and the auction to the UA community. Our committee plans to de-brief next week and make plans and improvements for the next one (11/16).

Promotions/Donations: Casey emailed me to let me know that she is tailoring the donation letter for food and art supplies. She also indicated that the art auction flyer should be ready for distribution starting this weekend and that BICAS will again create packets for us so that we can distribute flyers about town.
