In class this week we continued in our preparations for the BICAS auction. I was not able to, but some of our class was able to meet at BICAS for signpainting on Tuesday. On Thursday we made corsages for ourselves and also for a member of the BICAS staff, so the people at the auction would be able to distinguish the workers from the public at the events.
Dr McClure brought in a great selection of crafting supplies to choose from, but I stuck with straight up Bicycle tubes for my creations. I cut it into strips and shaped it into petal-like formations, piled them on top of one another in a fan like pattern, and sewed them together in the middle with a little red bow. The cutting process took a lot longer than I had imagined, so I ended up making two of the same corsage. I now wish I would have added a little more color to it, but hope it will be effective in gaining patron’s attention anyway.
