Thursday's class was really enjoyable as we were able to get back to the magic earlier experienced in our workshop...crafting in community! This time we had a new mission: to make corsages using bike parts and other crafty supplies. It's been really fun to dig through the stuff that Marissa brought and to see the creativity as everyone put their own spin on the idea of the corsage. Some of my colleagues looked up tutorials for creating different kinds of flowers using various materials. It was fun to see the way this kind of thing spread through the class. One person watches the video and figures out the technique, then shares it with someone else who then can share it with someone else and so on. I believe in this I saw the same pattern that I observed in our group's workshop-teaching people and empowering them to teach others. This chain is a spectacular thing. Those who become teachers solidify the process in their minds, and the process is shared to many more than would otherwise be reached. I think this scenario also makes it much more comfortable for the learner to ask questions and receive any help needed. These class days are my favorite. There is such joy and many lessons to be learned in the process of doing craft time like this.

I'm very excited to see everyone's corsages at the main event this weekend! Should be fun to see what everyone came up with!
