Excited!

After much planning, organization, and group collaboration, we were finally able to complete the bottlecap bike silhouette!! It looks AMAZING! I am very proud of each member of our group for creating such a beautiful work of art, and last but no least our awesome bottlecap artists! Aaron and I were able to take the final piece to BICAS this week. We hope to get a good bid on it in hopes of supporting the arts!

For my own auction piece, I wanted to make something that was representational of my personality. I am very interested in fashion design, so I decided to make some earrings that would brighten up any outfit. I made the earrings out of recycle bike pieces. My friend Alicia and I learned to knit when we were in high school. I told her about the program and she decided it would be awesome to help out and create a scarf with incorporated bike pieces as well. We both spray painted the metal pieces with gold spray paint. I bought some beads from Michael's and reused some wire from a leftover art project. The earrings were very easy to make! I am thinking about submitting an instruction sheet for the BICAS art blog and also the Tumblr blog.

Here are the finished earrings and scarf. :)

Overall, it was a wonderful experience helping BICAS out. I am very excited to see how the auction goes this weekend.
