Downi and I, having similar interests in the organization of the auction, attended our first BICAS meeting on Wednesday. What an experience! It was really a great way to find out more about their processes of decision making, as well as get to know some of the members.
What I paid particularly close attention to, besides the auction, were their relationships with various businesses and organizations. Of course our class was one of the relationships mentioned :) Casey spoke very highly of the workshops on the Mall and how well it seemed to be working in terms of reaching a part of the UA community that had never heard of BICAS.
Some of the information I gathered regarding how we can help in the coming weeks was mostly focused on flyer distribution. Troy took our emails and offered to let us know what routes they had available, and once we have that we can make it available to anyone else who can and would like to help. If you are around the area, they do have the flyers printed so, it couldn't hurt to stop by and pick some up if you have places in mind that might be interested!
