Our bottle cap workshop was off the top!

We had such a great time drawing, coloring, chatting, and munching on free Otter Pops and cookies. Thanks go out to our class, ARE 420 for participating and making so many artistic caps for our collaboration piece. We had such a great turn out as a result of flyers, handouts, word of mouth, and blogs such as this and Facebook. Many people were interested in what we were doing out on the mall and immediately wanted to participate as soon as they heard our cause was for BICAS. They have such a great reputation and many were willing to help out before they knew what was involved.

The caps were so easy: draw, color, smile! Some people were challenged by the spontaneous creativity, drawing a blank, but with so many examples to see, it did not take long for ideas to flow. We had flowers, animals, astrology, desert scenes, faces, cartoon and video game characters, patterns, quotes, everyday objects, zombies, U of A designs, and many more!

We were able to get almost half of our caps decorated in the time we were out there. Casey took a bunch to BICAS to share with a workshop to decorate. I will be picking them up tonight, I am so excited to see them. We will be finishing up remainder caps and the collaging will be underway!
