I attended the collective meeting with Alicia. I am interested in how BICAS works as an organization as well as how they organize their Art Auction fundraiser. I was surprised by the variety of people that sit on the board and help run this organization. I could see that BICAS is valuable organization that many people in the community support.
They discussed the art auction, BICAS events, and issues down to the nitty gritty of shop details. It seemed to me that everyone had equal opportunity to voice his/her opinion. This created a lot of discussion, which at times was very lengthy, but in the end a solution that everyone could support was agreed on. I also noticed how dedicated all of these people involved were. I remember thinking, "With all they do, it would be hard to have a life outside of BICAS." Bicas must be their passion, because they are all committed. It is not just a job.
Alicia and I were able to volunteer to take some of the work for them, and we sort of volunteered the University of Arizona as well. So if anyone has time to post Flyers, then I will ask to have the email posted on D2L.
I look forward to the next meeting.
I (Amy Moseley) would like to post flyers! :)
