Week three. In order to collaborate with Megan on sugar skulls, for the third week I diverged from making art from bicycle parts, to making sugar skulls. This is a project that I have done many times before and thought that for the week of Halloween would be fun for the students. This time I had many more students than the two weeks prior, but plain sugar skulls are so quick to make that most students made one or two, taking about 15 minutes, and left. In total, about 20 sixth graders stopped by. One teacher also made his way over to see what sugar skulls were. He was the first teacher to participate in the project.
